Leadership
Leadership is not easy to define and is often focused on behaviour rather than skill. To exhibit that behaviour and natural leadership ability, you must develop the skills that will support it.
“As a leader you must know yourself. Know your own strengths and weaknesses, so that you can build the best team around you.”
Our leadership programmes here at Beamish Hall encourage participants to discover qualities in themselves and others that will distinguish them as leaders and then to develop the necessary skills that will assist them in becoming great leaders. Using experimental learning opportunities and challenging participants to step outside their comfort zone, we will discover skills and attributes that colleagues and individuals may not realise they had.
These programmes will incorporate exercises that highlight various aspects of leadership including; leadership styles, goal setting, influencing, delegation and motivation techniques. These exercises can include elements of the Beamish Wild high and low ropes courses, orienteering, team tasks, adventure challenge and survival skills as well as off-site activities, such as water sports, mountain biking and mountain rescue.
