Activity Options for Schools
We've got a great selection of school activities at Beamish Wild, with something suitable for all abilities. The activities on the ropes course and within the grounds of Beamish Hall can be used to develop and build a whole range of personal skills.
High Ropes Adventure – Challenging and great for developing confidence. This 25-element treetop course can be themed suit the group’s needs and meet your objectives. Communication, working with others, raising self-esteem and awareness of others can all be incorporated into this thrilling experience.
Low Ropes Course – Ideal for developing leadership, teamwork and communication skills. The course has 10 individual elements that are designed to encourage and promote ‘thinking skills’.
Ground Level Adventure Course – Perfect for primary pupils as an introduction to the world of outdoor personal development.
Orienteering – Fast navigation! A superb team event in the safety of our extensive grounds. Let our expert staff teach you the skills to compete in this fun event.
Problem Solving – A host of initiative exercises await those ready for a team challenge! Fun and very interactive – great for school induction groups.
Archery – Experience the skill of Robin Hood! Learn this fun and interesting sport in our safe and impressive grounds. We use the latest archery equipment to teach this ancient art.
Bushcraft and Survival Skills – Real skills taught by real experts in the safety of our own woodland. Our team of experienced expedition guides will teach you about survival in some of the world’s wildest locations. Learn how to build shelters, light fires and cook in the open. Combine it with archery for a real woodland day!
Nature Detective Trail – Learn about the natural world in the varied and interesting settings that our grounds provide. Solve the clues and investigate a variety of wild habitats. We provide worksheets and field study guides as part of this exciting learning experience.
